Tata Power Secures Rs 1,744 Crore Smart Metering Project in Chhattisgarh: Empowering a Digital Energy Revolution

Tata Power has been awarded a significant smart metering project valued at Rs 1,744 crore in Chhattisgarh, as announced on Wednesday. The project has been entrusted to Tata Power by Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited (CSPDCL), following a tender process. The scope of the project covers multiple packages for different areas within the Chhattisgarh discom.

Over the course of the next decade, Tata Power will undertake the implementation of this project in the Raipur area, which encompasses both Raipur city and Raipur rural regions. The company's responsibilities entail the installation and maintenance of 18.60 lakh meters within the designated area. This initiative aligns with Tata Power's commitment to executing high-value projects aimed at transforming the power distribution landscape.

The project encompasses various stages, including design, supply, installation, commissioning, as well as operation and maintenance of smart meters at both the consumer end and the distribution transformers level. Executed under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), it is expected to significantly reduce AT&C (Aggregate Technical and Commercial) losses in the designated area while boosting revenue collection for CSPDCL.

CSPDCL, a state-owned electricity distribution company, plays a vital role in providing reliable and efficient electricity services to consumers throughout Chhattisgarh.
